Trying to Open an mp4

Post by Leo »

I have a Quicktime, MP4 file extension, that I am unable to open in the movie window.

Tech Specs and Tech Support say that DP only reads .MOV & .DV extensions.

However I have a buddy who does Film Scoring fulltime that says his DP 4.6 and 5 opened MP4 files.

Could the MP4 file, which I got via a third party, be encrypted?

I want to open it and write a new score to it.

What am I missing here?

Thanks!

MP4 worked fine for me. I tried it wtih the mpeg-4 basic, improved and H.264 formats and all of them worked.

Can you open the video in QT? Do you have any other QT movies to test with and see if anything works?

Also, if you don't have QT Pro and you plan on working with video, you are going to want to get that.

There is also SimpleMovieX. I haven't directly compared it with QT Pro, but their Quicktime Tax bit is a convincing sales point.
