Kontakt as FX plug in

Kontakt 3 is not showing up as a plug in. Native Instrument FM8 is. Deleted the Audio units cache and DP reanalyzed all the plugins including Kontakt 3. But still doesn't show in my inserts menu. Id' love to use some of the new fx in Kontakt 3, but no luck! Anybody have any magic tricks? NI has not responded.

Kontakt does not serve as an fx plugin. It's just a VI, so you won't see it in the Insert effects list.

Perhaps I'm confused. In the "Setup Guide" book, under the chapter "Using Native Intruments Software as Instrument or FX Plug-in", there is a section called "Native Instrument Software FX in Digital Performer". Any comments?

I think that refers to NI instruments that can serve as FX plugins, not "all" NI instruments. For example, while FM8 can be an insert, Battery 3 cannot. K3, like B3, can't be used as an FX plugin. Shame, too, because Kontakt has a nice arsenal of effects which would be fun to use on non-Kontakt instruments, like that Pro-53 filter.

Yeh Shame, new covolusion reverb is great.
I love NI products, but their explanations, and service center leave a lot to be desired. Thanks for your help!
