Macbook Pro battery update v1.3 messed up my mac

Post by Pound »

I have a two month old brand new Macbook Pro. So I checked software updater the other day and their was an update. Battery update v1.3 supposedly to improve your battery. So I did the update and it messed up my computer. After the update it showed I didn't have a battery in my computer any more. I took it to the apple store and they said the update messed up my logic board or something, and sent my computer off. Now I'm really pissed about this. I am starting to hate apple. Just thought I would share that in case anyone does the update be careful.

I agree...it's nice that they are fixing it, but in my opinion something brand new that breaks should be fully replaced with a new one. I mean I've only had it 2 months...but hey what can I do? I'll just have to accept it.

Best to divorce your self from the "brandding" of apple and view it simply as a machine. Sometimes things go wrong with machines. My wifes 3 month old dell laptop just had issues.......DO we hate dell....NO! (well I am not particularly fond of anything not mac)

Sorry to hear of your troubles, I hope all is sorted out to your satisfaction, inspiration and creativity.

I agree though after 2 months, It should have been replaced if the problem is that extensive.

Your right. I shouldn't have said I hate apple. I actually do love their products....when they work. I'm just a little frustrated because it's a brand new computer and I would like it to work forever with no problems....considering I had a pc for over 10 years that never gave me any trouble, as far as hardware problems. Also I had a G4 that messed up on me. But the good news is that I got my Powerbook Pro back today and all is well. They didn't tell me exactly what they did to it....other than fixed something with the logic board.

Well I just got a list of what was repaired or replaced on my computer...the only problem is I can't find out what the part numbers mean. I've looked online and seem to get nowhere.

630-9056 PCBA, 2.2GHZ, 128VRAM-HY, MPRO 15'
630-7933 PCBA BANDCAMP, M75
630-0507 FLEX ASSY, LIO/AUDIO, M75

Anyone know what these are?

They couldn't. Or atleast the "genius" I talked to couldn't tell me. So much for the genius title.
