Any MachFive 2 - Intel Mac users?

Post by mactechla »

I have a MacPro and have not yet ordered the MachFive 2 upgrade. Just wondering if MachFive 2 has been working and stable on the MacPro?

nk_e, do you literally mean no problems at all? Are you using MachFive 2, version 2.0.1? Are you not experiencing the loop save bug as documented in the following thread :?:

This is a devastating bug (reported over a month ago now) which is occuring on my (and others) MacBook Pro LE system as well as my (and others) HD systems.

Hi.

You are right. I'm having that problem also.

In other respects, my experiences have been trouble free.

I've been using M52 on my new Intel-Mac - but mainly just loading presets and composing. I did a project yesterday where I had 2 different instances of M52 with over 16 parts each, and it worked flawlessly. I can't speak to the loop issue - haven't come across it yet. My 8-core machine barely blinked!!

If you're loading pre-existing libraries and not making "home-made" sounds, the loop problem wouldn't matter, I suppose.

Other than that one giant bug, (and a few minor ones), I do love the program. Eternal optimist that I am, I've gotta believe they're right around the corner with a fix...

With that one exception, it runs great on my MacBook Pro /PT LE rig. (as well as my G5 PT HD rig)

Loop Lab and some of the other new features are truly inspiring.
