Trouble with mw gate... or user error???

heres one 4 ya, I am using a mw gate on a snare and side chaining it from a bus. This works great until I close the plug window. After closing the gates window, the track goes silent. Upon further investigation using the "meters" window, I have found that the entire bus goes silent that I was using to trigger the gate.

My work around is just to leave the window open but hidden behind the mixer window. This solves the problem until It accidently gets closed.

Any Ideas?

dp5.11 and os 10.4.9 on macpro quad 2.66 w/4gig of ram

Make sure you go to the plugin windows drop down box and check "Always run in real time".
