Audiodesk UNIVERSAL BINARY released Aug 3rd

Post by emulatorloo »

Chucks pointed out to me in another thread that MOTU silently updated Audiodesk on Aug 3 to support intel processors:

Free download for registered users:
AudioDesk 2.1
This is an update of AudioDesk 2 which provides compatibility updates for Tiger OSX 10.4 and Intel processor support.

This install requires OSX 10.4.4 or higher (10.4.10 recommended) and a G4 500Mhz or faster processor. A previous install and authorization of AudioDesk 2.0x is also required.

Unzip and double-click installer. Follow on-screen instructions.
File Name: audiodesk_2.1.zip
Type: updater
Date: 2007/08/03
Language: english, japanese
Version: 2.1
Size: 52.5MB
Platform: Mac OSX

Well, how 'bout that? Audiodesk has gone to 2.1 UB.

We hear so little about Audiodesk these days that I'd nearly forgotten about it. Quiet little app makes quiet little update. 8)

I could not live with audiodesk limited function when one can buy DP...
Even if it comes free with your audio hardware...
I hope for the Audiodesk people that the road won't as hard as DP5.1 was....

Well, Dwetster, you could look at Audiodesk as a "very poor man's" Monkey Stools.
The 'Stools mob mostly doesn't use MIDI anyway...

It's surely useful to some who've purchased MOTU interfaces and received it therewith.
Actually, I'm guessing here, but it seems logical to assume this. :D

MOTU DP8.07, MachFive 3.2.1, MIDI Express XT, 24I/O

Pretend I've placed your favourite quote here

Hey guys, I can't find where to download audiodesk on MOTU website. I registered it when I bought my Traveler and it appears on my registration list, but it won't provide me any place to download it. I only have the "updates".

Thanks Dwetmaster, I was misleaded by the sentence :"A previous install and authorization of AudioDesk 2.0x is also required" on the download page.

Well anyway since I don't have the CD it won't let me activate it, even though I registered it on their website. I will probably send them an email; I guess I need that freaking CD.

If you are a registered user they will send you a replacement CD for free.

I found the Motu CD today...it was in my Korg Legacy box  :D
Anyway it was not the problem cos I still can't activate it.

Once installation is complete when I launch AD, a box pops up asking for my name and the serial number (in AD manual). Problem is the "OK" button stays greyed out and I can't validate.

I tried with CD in superdrive, with Traveler powered on and nada

You need to enter the keycode, not the serial number; from MOTU's tech notes:
I enter my name and keycode, but the OK button doesn't become active
"I don't see any method at all, sir."
