For Tascam FW1082 users

Just picked one up and love it with a couple of exceptions.

The documentation clearly states:
"Additional Transport Keys"

IN = RTZ
OUT = Go to Tail

Neither function as such.

Also none of the "Function" keys work as stated too.
Lastly the Shuttle ("SHTL") light won't illuminate. The shuttle works only in beat/tic increments w/o this function. With the "SHTL" led on, it should work measure to measure.

What am I missing? I searched other posts and everyone seems to have full functionally. All other controllers are working fine, so the unit is still very useful. The lack of RTZ is irritating and the function keys would be really nice to have.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't had any success with most of what you have described either. IN, OUT and RTZ don't seem to do anything - same with the function buttons. To RTZ, I just press the stop button twice - works fine. I have never been able to get the shuttle led to light, but I never use it anyway.

It does seem like the DP functionality was not completely finished on this unit, however, despite the limitations, I find it to be a very useable piece of gear.

I have not tried those cammand keys, but my shuttle light does illuminate. I have not had mine long but at least the tranport keys and channel functions do work. I have had to use Malckie emulation because the Motu driver is only Power PC not universal binary. I have talked to Tascam and they said that it is "being worked on" and should be available soon. I have also sent two emails. I would like to use it in the native mode. And I have been able to open the Soft LED software but I cannot get it to work,
