anyone own/use/know about R.A.W. Style Packs ???

Post by larryf »

there's a sale going on for for Rex Style Packs which is completely off the rails. 24,000 drum loops importable into Stylus RMX or Kontakt (I'm pretty sure) for $229. I haven't heard these but the demos sound good, and I've been looking around for a massive loop/percussion library so I could stop building piecemeal and just have it all on tap, all at once. Though inexpensive relative to what you get, it's still a chunk of change, so I'm soliciting feedback on these loops. I'm wondering if anyone here uses any of these packs, and if so, what you think. Here's the link to the promotion, FYI

In theory, theory works in practice, but in practice, it doesn't

For 299.00 I bought the R.A.W. Gold Edition, basically tha same but each loop is delivered in 3 separate formats (Rex, Apple Loops and Wave) for the ultimate in control groove control. Includes the complete R.A.W. Universal Groove Kit (5.000 loops more, 199.00 of value).
I'm waiting for the packages.... c'mon Postman!

I just bought the Nashville PopGrooves and Vintage Rock Grooves, so far only used the Nashville. I used it in Stylus RMX and I love it. Sounds good, easy to work with, and no phase issues (like w/real drums!) Such glee for me, just what I wanted. Where is this sale going on? Thanks, Kelly

You can also import them into DP (on topic :) ). But if you don't have something like Stylus RMX, how do you browse and audition when searching for the right loop?

The R.A.W. Style Paks give you the same material in three different formats (Rex, Apple Loops, and Wav = R. A. W.). The group buy is for the Rex format only. The Rex Paks and the R.A.W. Paks are two different products.

With R.A.W. Style Paks you can audition A. or W. loops with the Finder, then import the R. (Rex) version into DP. With the Rex-only version, how would you audition the loops?

I didn't audition the loops, I just used the sage converter from Stylus and imported all the loops(REX format) from each pack into Stylus RMX and THEN, w/Stylus open in DP, I checked thru them and started constructing tunes. I love the sounds. The Nashville Pop sounds aren't described very well in their names. But you figure it out quick when you hear it. Good Luck, Kelly
