I finally got the Intel Mac upgrade for NI Kontakt 2, so I could use all my sample libraries (from EastWest) with Digital Performer 5. I installed everything, but I can't figure out how to configure DP 5 to hear audio output. I'm sure there's something really obvious that I'm missing.
When I right-click on the output column, my choices are "DP Output" or "Kontakt Output." Choosing either of these results in no sound. There isn't a 'main out' option - but there should be right?
I can load samples into K2 with no problems. I hear sound when I play in Finale or just any regular mp3 audio file in iTunes or Quicktime. The Mac AUDIO/MIDI setup is set to the default (built in output) and, as stated, it works for all other programs except DP.
I came from PC/Cakewalk environment to the Mac world, so I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. I tried contacting tech support at MOTU and the place where I got my software, but ran out of time on hold. I thought this might be faster and easier to understand!
Thanks in advance!

No sound from DP - from a tech newbie

Thanks, but I've done this. The default output and system output are set to "built-in output" in the AUDIO MIDI dialog. Inside DP, I go to Setup>Audio System>MOTU Audio System is checked. Also, Core Audio/Built-in output is selected under Setup>Configure Audio System>Configure Hardware Driver.
All other applications work; I can record and play back sound; just can't get it to work in DP.
