Mach Five version 2 Free Upgrade as Promised DRINKS PARTY :)

Post by Spikey Horse »

Oh well, I guess we'd better start a new one...

EDIT:

Sit-in protest no longer necessary it seems we will get the free upgrade as promised.....

.... therefore this thread now converted to celebratory drinks party, please help yourself to wine, champaign or beer ... ... oh, I've laid out a few nibbles too...

"A toast .... to MOTU, we knew you'd deliver, eventually. Roll on V3!"

Customer Service anyone?

Isn't amazing at how companies just never learn?
I mean, the arrogance of it all.... its the worst thing you do when running a company, is to think your customers will ALWAYS be there.
The upgrade was promised FREE to everyone purchasing after the 20th of January 2005....and now they want us to pay $200?
And even worse, NO EXPLANATION WHAT SO EVER?
Believe me, I've seen this attitude before in huge corporations, and they usually go under. MOTU -- READ "THE POPCORN REPORT" by Faith Popcorn and learn a thing or two.
I absolutely need to get this upgrade, and will probably shell out the fee anyway, but still -- its a huge drag telling people something is free if they buy it, then changing their minds and acting like they never said it.....

why not drop them an e-mail to find out the details? I'm sure there are eligibility requirements and that not every single owner of M5 bought it after January 20th, 2005.

I just received an e-mail reply indicating that I needed to send them my mailing address so that they can send me the "courtesy MachFive 2 upgrade".

I sent them a message last night using a previous correspondence indicating that I was in fact noted in their system as being eligle. I used this same message to ask about how to initiate the process of receiving the free upgrade. (My purchase date was 4/05).

I sent my message at 10:55pm EST and received a reply by 12:10am.

Someone tell me if that fixes the problem, because if everything is *reasonable* on their upgrade policy than I want to lose this thread and stop busting MOTU's chops for perhaps a minute or two, okay?

Those of us who bought Mach Five v 1, prior to 2005 (2003)

Post by macguitarman »

What happens to us Those of us who bought Mach Five v 1 when it first came out and had to basically beta test this for free.

Bought mine way back in 2003,

I don't care what anyone says, v1 was useless, and I am an engineer and was very patient.

This is not a way to reward your first , longest running customers of Mach Five, MOTU

Throw us a bone, if not free, then 50 bucks or something, MOTU you must step up here.

I think MOTU's point is that even if MachFive2 came out on time, you wouldn't have made the cut-off date for a free upgrade. I know everybody wants something for nothing... but there's a point at which they have to cut it off.

Version 1 was useless? Really? How so... worked fine for me.

Not sure what you mean by this... Mach5 as been a staple for me since I bought it the first day it came out. Of course, I'm a dp user so compatibility hasn't been an issue...
