Détaché (MSI String technique)

Question... i'm trying to get my sustained (arco) strings to "breathe." the manual has listed "Détaché" under Playing Techniques, but there's no détaché patch.

anyone have any suggestions on how i can achieve this a bit?
which parts are best combined, and how would i set it up?
