I downloaded it already

But I'm sorry to say it's a cruel joke my MOTU

After you instal it just goes

' HA hA hA hA hA only joking !'

And then crashes your mac.

Shame on you MOTU

shame on you

hey seriously this thing has some tasty samples by the looks of things ... including vsl no less ... hope it's different to the K2 stuff LOL

.. and hey look at this:

Load third party sounds natively
MachFive 2 transparently loads every major sample format. From Giga to EXS, SampleCell to Kontakt, Apple Loops to REX files, third-party formats load without any conversion. You can even load disc-based formats like Roland S-700 or Kurzweil K2000. Load right off the CD, or make disk images of them to access the sounds without the CD in your drive.

Now that does sound trippy :D

Remember folks, be sure to have the 'orchestral' demo song playing while you read the info on the motu site and have a tissue to hand, it's a beautiful moment you'll treasure forever...

I haven't found anything yet on if the upgrade is "Free" for people that thought it would be way back when they bought it... IMO the upgrade is well worth the $195 but I want to make sure before i send it :D

well, it may be worth it but I'm one of those that bought version 1 long after the announcement thinking version 2 was coming out any day and would be free. so $200 doesn't sit quite right with me.

I'm sure they will work it all out...
I'll just wait.

It's a fair concern, imho. $200 for a free update--- interesting.

I do hope they address the issue or at least offer the courtesy of some sort of explanation regarding the change of policy as a gesture of mutual support. I would hope that the understanding of registered users is not being underestimated or disregarded entirely.

Yeah the pages have been up for all of what, an hour? Things'll settle.

If you think you get a free upgrade, I would just call them.

Hehe...

It made me a little nervous when I had to register machfive on their website (a few weeks ago)... makes me think they didnt get the card i maiiled in years ago. Did anyone see the machfive 1 registration on their website without actually filling it out on the site (or ordering machfive directly from motu maybe- i bought mine locally)?
