Really. I mean, they actually showed it. It was awesome, dude. I'd try to get that system in my DAW, but DP actually goes even farther. It goes into the 60's or 80's or something. But their engineers must have been high. They got it backward. To make it louder, you have to turn it down to zero. I just tell people it's a new scientific system whereby less is more. And they STILL want it to go up to 11. Just can't please some folks.

I've managed to get my mits on a crystal amp (more vintage than valve, man), and a natural magnetic stone recorder.
It only records two tracks, but I figure if I can achieve half of what Sir George managed with four, I could start a "Fab Two" thread that'd be good for at least 14 pages.
Of course I'd have to wait 40 years in order for the thread to have any cred whatsoever.

As a bonus, the track width is like, 10+ inches.
Whilst frequency response charts are availble in Braille, an hysteresis curve printout has proved all but impossible to track down.

for those purists that prefer the sound of an analog leafblower or chainsaw, this ain't the ticket. it works for me, though, as i tend to prefer the tone of early-80's 4 bit digital weedwhackers. though, there truly is nothing that sounds quite like a well-tuned leafblower...

I would suggest a bari sax, but I think you're right, the leaf blower is much more tunable...

Analog leaf blowers are notorious for drifting out of tune over time. Gigsters from the 70s will remember having to turn the leaf blower on at least three hours before the show to allow the tuning to stabilize.

I think it may have been Roland who introduced the first digital controlled leafblower technology (DCLT).

And then of course, the next step was the virtual leafblower. This is not to be confused with the rare Tasmanian Virtual Leafblower, which is a small bird with a large set of lungs. The Tasmanian Virtual Leafblower has been hunted almost to extinction by the notorious Black Lion Mod (usually seen wearing bellbottoms and listening to Quadrophenia).

I haven't been able to use my virtual leafblower because I don't have space on my drive for the 20 terrabyte sample library it requires. Even if I did have the drive space, I hate the 9lb MasterLock titanium dongle. Don't get me started about titanium dongles...

in this day of over compressed cd and overcompressed everything by turning in down u actually stand out from the crowd.

marshall made an amp that went to 20 but i think it was false advertising because it didn't sound twice as loud as one that only went to 10
