instrument tracks - problem with bounce to disk

Post by paleamberglow »

i'm fairly new to dp and am having an issue when i try to bounce MOTU instrument tracks to disk. when i bounce, all i am getting is silence in the mixdown file.

here's the situation:

i have 5 Bassline tracks which sound perfect when I play the mix back in DP. I want to bounce all of these tracks down to one stereo track for use in another project.

All instrument track instances of Bassline are routed to the main 1 + 2 outputs.

All tracks including the MIDI tracks are are selected in sequence view.

In the 'selection' window, i have entered the beginning measure and ending measure of what I want to bounce. The length of this segment is 6 minutes.

I have selected 'bounce to disk' from the audio menu, selected split stereo standard format SDII file with main 1 + 2 outputs as the source.

what am i doing wrong?

nevermind... i found a better way to do this by just bussing the instruments to an audio track and recording them to that track.

Yeah, that's the way to do it. The other way is to freeze the instrument tracks -- which is essentially the same steps automated.
