hello,
i'm from france and i would like to ask you a question:
I bought approximatly 2 years ago an exemplar of East West symphonic orchestra silver for my Mac ( it was a PPC). I switched 4 months ago but i was not able to use my Virtual instrument with it.
Does anyone use Symphonic Orchestra silver or over with Mac Intel??
I leave in france but i'm would like to know if it's possible to upgrade or not for using with digital performer.
Thank you for your help. Best regards
East West symphonic orchestra silver with Mac Intel...

Hi pagano:
Yes, you may use EWSO with the MacIntel. Currently, the only way to do it is to use Kontakt 2.2 from Native Instruments. The KomPakt player that comes with the PPC version will not work on the MacIntel.
You must, however, install the complete library (including the KomPakt player that won't work) on the MacIntel. It must be newly registered online, and a new authorization code will arrive via e-mail from Native Instruments. You must then start EWQLSO once in standalone mode (not within DP) to get it authorized. This is a little confusing because even though it won't work it still must be started.
Then, once you've installed Kontakt 2.2 and have directed Kontakt to "see" your EWQLSO samples, you will be able to use it.
Some good news: East West is offering their own native playback engine called PLAY, and users are hoping the version that will work with the orchestra libraries will arrive later this year. It is indeed MacIntel compatible. It may be easier to wait for the new playback engine than to buy Kontakt 2.2, but if you need to work on the MacIntel right away, getting Kontakt 2.2 is the only option.
Good luck!
