CPU Power
For the first time in 18 months I had some CPU slowness while working in a DP session. I have two Glyph drives (120 and 250) connected via firewire and I often have one on and one off. Last night both were on when I had this slowness. It didn't harm the session, but it concerned me.
Any thoughts or suggestions? I will obviously try powering one off, but it seems to me that is might be something else.

my 2 cents :
(If note already done)
use OnyX daily, weekly and monthly
use TechtoolPro monthly
It works like a charm here.

OnyX is free
http://www.titanium.free.fr
My wife's iBook has got great benefit from this small and free tool.
Be shure to chose accordingly to the OS.
TechToolPro is another wide subject.
In fact it's that old "defrag or not defrag in OSX" question, which is a dead horse now.
My humble opinions are :
"Defrag !"
and
"TechToolPro rules !"
