trouble with audio pitch on DP4.6
Anyone having a problem with pitch automation in DP4.6. I can't a real time change to occur when I make a pitch change on a vocal soundbite. I was on the phone with tech support all afternoon with no resolve. Wondering if i'm the only one.
TIA

What are you guys doing? I can perfectly hear the pitch variations on mine.
Re: trouble with audio pitch on DP4.6
I have exactly the same problem.
I've set up the preferences as told in the user guide and pitch shift is enabled in the soundbite info page. I'm using OS10.3.9 on a dual 1.8 G5.

I don't get any real time pitch variation. I was told by tech support that a 500Mhz G4 is not enough machine to run this upgrade.
Any info on what the minimum requirements to run this DSP upgrade in 4.6 are?
TIA
David

Re: trouble with audio pitch on DP4.6
Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I do everything the PDF says and it all seems to be fine except the audio never sounds any different, even with what should be extreme pitch moves. I'm on a dual 2G G5, btw. The track has automation playback enabled. I have ADC on. The pitch bypass button is in the correct position. The soundbites are set for PureDSP pitch change.

Well, I've gotten it to work on a new DP 4.6 file, but still "no go" on projects started in previous versions. Even after saving it as a 4.6 file and reopening it.

Re: trouble with audio pitch on DP4.6
I'm having the same problem on a G5 1.6GHz single processor w/1.25GB of RAM running OSX 10.4.1. I have only tried it on pre-existing projects - no background processing seems to be happening either and I have followed the information in the update notes. Are the people here who have been successful with the pitch automation running Tiger as well, or an earlier version of the OS? Thanks.

I've had success using pitch automation. I'm running OS 10.3.9 on a Dual 2.5 G5 with 2.5 gigs of RAM.
I wonder if this is a Tiger issue after all.

Re: trouble with audio pitch on DP4.6
I just noticed that one of the previous posters was having the problem and is running 10.3.9, so I guess it isn't exclusive to Tiger after all. I sent an email to Magic Dave, but I doubt he replies to email on the weekend, so it may be a few days before I get a reply.

Re: trouble with audio pitch on DP4.6
When I first updated to DP 4.6 and opened an older file, the Soundbites pulldown menu (for a track) in SE was blank. I quit Dp and restarted and then it worked fine. The pitch stuff is working for me on a G5 and Tiger.

Funny thing. Now pitch automation isn't working! It was yesterday, now it's not.

Re: trouble with audio pitch on DP4.6
OK. Now the pitch automation is working. Strange. This is in a different file from the one I originally tried. I wasn't seeing the analysis happening in the background processing because I had that set to show only high priority tasks - doh! I just let it do its thing before trying to manipulate the pitch this time. I'll have to try the original project again to see if it works now.
