Thanks. I do have one question. I'm using an 828mkII and an Alesis Photon25 for MIDI. I have a Proteus rack mount and a Roland Drum Rack mount. I have the Proteus hooked up to the 828 in the Audio/MIDI Utility, and that works in DP.

However, I can't get the Alesis to drive the Roland unit. I thought I would be able to see the Alesis as a controller in DP. Am I doing something wrong?

BTW, my brother is TimeMist on this list, and he's the one who got me hooked into DP. I should make him come over and fix this, huh?

What's up Walrus,

In your audio/MIDI setup are all of your MIDI devices showing up?
Does the Roland drum rack show up as a MIDI device?

Walrus' brother here. I took a look at his setup. The MIDI part is different to me because I have everything running through a MTPAV, and I've never used the Alesis Photon. Walrus has an 828mkII and an Alesis Photon which both appear in his Audio/MIDI setup as MIDI interfaces.

I added his Proteus manually and connected it in the audio/MIDI setup to the 828. That works no problem.

I added his Roland rack mount and connected it to the Alesis Photon in the audio/MIDI setup. The Roland unit shows up as a MIDI destination in DP, so that is all good.

But what Walrus wants is for the Alesis to show up as a MIDI controller and a MIDI interface. That's where the problem starts. The A/M Setup doesn't have a choice for the Alesis as a controller, hence it doesn't appear in DP as a choice for doing MIDI input.

But there has to be a way for it to work since the Photon has DP templates for the knobs on the unit. But they give no instructions on how to set it up to work as a controller in DP.

I hear you. Try creating/adding a new device and use one of the other Alesis keyboards as a MIDI device replacing the Photon.
(Alesis QS7 might work) The QS7 (Photon) will then be a MIDI controller.

Hope this helps.
