Best way to merge two tracks???

Post by cjswitzer »

I'm looking to burn a cd that has two tracks blended together. I'm basically looking to to have say track 3 go into track 4 with no noticeable transition between them. Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance!

That's done in your burning software where you tell it no gap between songs. Then if you cut your soundbites exactly where it should in DP then it should be played correctly on your cd. To be sure, your cut should be at a zero crossing...

just hi-lite both tracks, bounce to disk, import in iTunes and burn.

the degree to which they'll blend together depends upon how they were recorded and what effects are on each track, etc.

Hey cjswitzer

But do you want them to be seen on the CD as track 3 only or as track 3 and track 4?

I want it to show up as track 3 and 4.

So as far as recording an album, do most of you usually record all the tracks in one project or do you create a new project for each song. I usually create a new project for each song to keep the file sizes to a min. I think that's why I have found it more difficult to blend two songs together...

I might be way off here, but this sounds like a good time to use chunks or sequences.

Again, I'm no chunk expert yet, its just an often overlooked little piece of genius in DP.

You could very well be correct on this JadeLatrell. I also have not used chunks or sequences often in DP yet. Sounds like I need to hit the DP manual again. Thanks!

Chunks Rules man and especially for that. You can put your master fader and all of your fx in a VRACK so that everything is processed the same way. If you want to keeep your file size to the minimum, you can do all of your editing/recording in separate projects and then import all the songs in a single project making sure that you check the "load soundbites from selected chunk only". That way you only import whats useful and you keep out your junk. Then it's easy to go from one song to another for mixing comparison.

Me too. Can someone please give an explaination of "chunks"? What is it, how it is used? I thought it was just for MIDI data, and I don't record much MIDI stuff.
As bad as I am, I'm proud of the fact that I'm worse than I seem
