MIDI Channel Change mid track, is It Possible?

Post by bhcomposing »

Is it possible to change MIDI Channel Output for a MIDI track for individual notes or phrases (mid track)? Some sequencers have this capability and it would be handy if DP did too. The application would be useful for creating custom Keyswitches.

Example: I set up 7 different articulations for an instrument in an instance of Kompakt as used with the East West Orchestra, each articulation set to a different channel. By using channel 1, I can get legato, channel 2, staccato.

The old way was to set up a different MIDI track for each articulation, but this is impractical logically (especially if we plan to print parts).

Anyone?

Hi

You can either create MIDI Device Groups or chose Multi Record Input Source to set up a different MIDI track for each articulation.

For printed parts you can drag the MIDI events between those separate tracks.

Print the Score after that is done to desired tracks.
