There could be different reasons for the problems people are having. I've not read anything from anyone who has never installed any version of DP on their computers before that there were compatibility problems. Much hinges on the "readiness" of all aspects of their audio software-- namely, third-party plugins and drivers.

There is something to be said by starting with a clean slate.

One thing is certain: get v 5.11 installed-- don't stop at 5.10.

I've been running 5.11 on OS 10.4.9 on paid jobs for the last few days and it's been rock-solid on my MacPro 2.66. For what it's worth.

Thank you everyone. I am feeling better about this now. Just wish I could "test drive it" before buying. But from what I am reading it seems to be where I want to go for a new DAW. Anywhere i can read the manual or PDF?

Is that configuration working for anyone using a PowerPC processor? I've got a dual 1.5GHz G4 with 10.4.9 installed, thinking of buying DP5.

There's no PDF of the manual. Best you can do is either pick up one of those third-party books on DP or sit in with a current user.

Thanks, HCMarkus. But, I see your signature line says G5 Quad... So it's an Intel, not PowerPC :?:
