Well here's a weirdy, folks...

I tried making a tempo change to a section of a piece I was working on yesterday, later discarding the tempo markers from the conductor.

I then noticed that the main tempo indicator - right in the middle of the main transport control - had become a non-editable display instead of its usual editable box.

Anyone come across this one before?

That's what it does while in Conductor Track (not Tempo Slider) mode. This is selected in the Tempo Control tab. Click the triangle in the top right corner of the Control Panel to expose the tab.
