I recently bought Ultimate Sample Bank X-treme FX sample bank, and am very happy with the sounds, but the simple player that comes with the samples is nearly useless for improvising because I can't create my own sample mappings to the keyboard. I'm stuck having to search for sounds within groups, then selecting the sounds one by one (or in small pre-determined groups of one type of sound), then waiting for the samples to load before playing....so I need to choose a better sample player.
From what I can see, I'd be happier with MachFive than with USB Plugsound Pro (their fully featured sample player) as opposed to the simple one they provide with the soundbank), but have concerns about translating the well thought out soundbank into MachFive. Has anyone here done this yet? What are the results.
My question relates to the importing of samples into MachFive. I've seen references to the MOTU sample extract tool and wonder, first of all if it's necessary to use this tool, or if MachFive sees Xtreme-FX as a native soundbank. Do I just need to point to my .ufs files (the X-treme FX samples), or do I need to use the extract tool? If extract, will this give me grief or "translate" smoothly?
Thanks
Gabriel
Plugsound Pro or MachFive with UVI extract?)

Hello Gabriel.
I think it will be compatible only with the next version of Mach5 as i don't think you can use UVIextract with it.
Youn can go to the USB forum and ask the Plugsound support team

Hope that help.
