Driver or Windows settings?

Post by voxytoa »

Hi Guys,

I am enjoying recording with my MOTU mk2. However I have a few annoying digs that I know shouldnt be happening.

When running cubase whilst recording or playing back, I sometimes need to use another application ie. Motu firewire cuemix console or Reason etc.. Now these other applications have already been opened and are ready to use in the background. However, when I switch between Cubase and one of these applications Cubase will stop playing or recording. In the past I have been able to record/playback from Cubase without any interruptions when switching between these applications. Can anyone relate to this? Is there some kind of option in Windows XP that stops multitasking -used for dedicating memory priority?

One more thing. I have never been able to use my MOTU device at its highest sample rate of 96KHz. Each time I go into the control panel (in Cubase) or the MOTU audio console I select this sample rate only to be told that the 88.2KHz will be used. Only recently "I am told" that 44.1KHz or 48KHz can be used when selecting the higher sample rates. I simply dont understand what causes this?

Puzzling eh?

I hope someone can help.

Ben

i dont think you can run 2 programs using the same device at once,
Usually the only way to run cubase and reason at the same time is by using rewire.

And i think the 2408 MK2 doesnt do 96K only the MK3
