5.11 install issue
I upgraded my OS to 10.4.8, and I've tried reinstalling a couple of times, and I still get the same problem:
When I launch 5.11 it starts up as if it's the first time, everything's humming along, and then it just quits.
5.01 still works fine.
Any insights?
(oh yeah, I'm running a dual 1.8 G5 PPC)

Re: 5.11 install issue
If it were me I would start with repairing permissions. I don't know if that will fix, but it might. If it doesn't maybe someone will suggest your next step.mulletsaison wrote:Any insights?
Using Mac OS X, how do I repair permissions and what does that do?

ON EDIT -- There are some third party plug-ins that need updating for DP5.11.
Make sure you read the read mes that come with it -- for example the audioease plug-ins need a free update or they will crash DP.
I forgot to read the read me when I installed. That equalled crash on start-up -- read it, did what it said, then all was well!

Try throwing out your dp preferencesmulletsaison wrote:Hey, thanks for the response... reapairing the disk permissions didn't work unfortunately.
not in front of my music machine, but they are in your user directory:library
Not sure which directory inside of library but you can probably find them
ON EDIT -- are you good on those plug ins?
Also MOTU re-did how MAS works in DP 5.11 so some MAS third party plugs don't work and crash DP. For example Antares Autotune 4. But the AU still works, so I just pulled the mas one out.
Also do you have any cheapy freeby plugs?????? that is always potential for disaster IMHO unless you have tested first w 5.11

5.11 launches now
Hey, thanks for the help; eliminating the VST plugins got 5.11 to launch.

Re: 5.11 launches now
If you are using VST wrapper from audioease, that is one of the ones you need to update or DP will crash. See the link in the readme.mulletsaison wrote:Hey, thanks for the help; eliminating the VST plugins got 5.11 to launch.
Glad you got it worked out!
