guys,
just a quickie.
at the moment i am useing a MOTU 424 card linked up to my mackie D8B which produces a really hot strong audio signal via light cable into the desk. I have recently borrowed an M AUDIO 410 firewire audio interface to DJ with via my macbook useing ableton, the odd thing is the analogue output which I put thru my D8B from the 410 is more than half as loud as the MOTU.
WHy would this be? all the settings in the M AUDIO software are at full, but the MOTU blows it out the water. Is it that the MOTU's optical interface is much louder that an analgue output?
help please!

Have you tried opening the M-Audio FireWire App and adjusting the output levels? I recently borrowed a 410 because my normal interface was in the shop and couldn't figure out why the levels were so low until I discovered that little program that was installed from the CD that came with the unit. See if that helps.
