DP 5.11 Crashes when using loop controls! Gonna Freak Out!!

Very often while using the loop control buttons in the shuttle window, I get a crash. I will set my loop start and end points, and when I hit the rewind button to set the wiper back to the beginning of the set loop time, I get a beach ball, and DP stops responding. I can't save, and I have to Force Quit to get out. Now I know I should just save everytime before using the loop functions, but it is a real pain to re-open the program all the time. I am using 5.11, and this happens probably 6 out of 10 times. It REALLY PISSES ME OFF! Anyone else having this problem? What can I do?

Hi

Stop the DP first. Hit the Rewind when DP has stopped.
If you have plenty of VIs and plug-ins on the Project it
is better to give DP some time to configure all the changes.
Don‘t move too fast.

Odd. It shouldn't happen.

You should post some system and project stats. It's hard to assess your situation otherwise.

In the meantime, though -

DP 5.11 on a Powermac G5 - Dual 1.8Ghz - 2.25Gb Ram - OS 10.4.8 - Motu 896 Firewire Interface.

Projects are usually 24 bit, 44.1k, but I do 96k often as well.

I have done all the usual stuff like permission repairs, but I will check out the 'crash' thread.
