Hello, it's Sam. I'm french. As I know very well a guy who works for Univers-sons in Paris (the store owned by USB) I can tell you that the guys were still working on the program in January. Release date is still unknown (he said "maybe during the Namm", but we saw nothing...). That's the bad news.
The good news is that my friend told me that v2 will have unexpected and very cool features in addition to the promised ones. He didn't want to tell me more, but seemed very excited and told me not to sell my Machfive v.1... This info is 99% reliable. Tomorrow, I'll try to get more news, as I haven't seen him for a few weeks. I've also sent another mail to MOTU to get answers, but I don't expect much from this.
I would also like to tell you about the UVI soundcards: they're released with a very basic player (the same one you can found in the demo section of their site), so if you wanna try the cards right now... The retro keyboards one is really the best product I've found so far for Rhodes (Mk I II IV V), Clavinets (4 models), Wurlitzers, and E-Pianos of all kind.
I made a blind test with scarbee rsp 73 (I really like this one) and heard no difference...The UVI soundcard is great!!! I really mean GREAT!!!!!
(and it's NEW material, not the old banks in the "plugsound keyboards vol.1" as some might suspect). If you've got a weighted keyboard, you've almost got the feeling you're playing the real thing...
UVI RETRO KEYBOARDS & no news about v2
