Motu with Lucid problem

Post by zini31 »

Hello this my first Thread in this forum
I really enjoy and learn from here and many thanks to all the great people here.

recently I got Lucidx6-96 wordclock unit
and I am having problem with motu units
My set is
motu2408 with PC 1
motu2408 MK2 with pc2
motu1224 with pc3
and motu 2408MK3 with G5

Lucid is sending 48k clock to all motu units and
all three motu units on PC are making pops and clicks
2408MK3 on G5 works just fine

I tried to change cables but did not work and pretty sure set right PCI console on PC and connect properly from LUCID to MOTU

they work just fine with internal clock though

any experience wtih clocking motu unit?
many thanks

Do you have built in Firewire on any of the PC's?

The VIA FW chipset's will cause that which I found out recently.

Disable them in the BIOS. Use a TI chipset on a SIIG Firewire card.

Have you selected the correct word clock source in the motu setting panels on each computer? It will default to internal clock otherwise ;)
