Does Your Traveller work OK With Your Macbook?

Post by creaturestudios »

Hey all- im about to buy a Macbook cos i want to be able to buss power my Traveller. I was reading on another article that Pre-Sonus users find that they still need to connect the wall wart to their interface to get it to boot up but after that it can run it on the firewire buss. So are there any users here successfully running their Travellers off their mac books? :?:

Even though the Traveler came with a wall-wart, I've never used it. I always run exclusively off the firewire buss without issues. It's always run fine with the MacBook plugged-in, as well as off battery power. I've had all four mic pres on phantom with the MacBook on battery power and still have not had so much as an audible blip on record. A very fine piece of gear indeed! I also highly recommend the MOTU bag you can get for it, the MacBook fits nicely and leaves a lot of room for mics, cables, and documentation.
