merging 2 mono soundbites into 1 stereo?

Post by kbmh »

I've started archiving a bunch of old 4 track
recordings and on several projects I digitized
a stereo pair as two mono tracks. Is it possible
to merge two mono tracks into one stereo track?
I've been looking through the User Guide but the
only thing I could see is merge two mono into
one mono.

Did I miss the page or is it not possible?

Thanks!

They can be bounced to disk with levels and panning as they are in the mixer.

Or, create a new stereo soundbite then copy and paste a soundbite into each side.

Or (easiest), go to the sound files in the finder (highlight the soundbite in DP and hit Option-R) and rename them with identical names, except put a .L (Soundbitename.L) extension on one, and .R on the other. From there drag one into the Soundbites window and a stereo file should be imported. Remove the original mono files from the soundbites window, as DP won't be able to find them anymore.
