motu and analog console.
Sorry if this has been covered before. I have Alesis HD24,Motu2408 mkIII and run Sonar 5. Now, I want to send the individual tracks back to analog console once I have then edited, automated etc. Presently I run just a stereo out to 2 faders of my console. I want to run 24 out of HD24 to 24 fades of the console but I cant figure out exactly how. How should the Motu be setup for this? I know people that do this but I••™m stuck. I want to go from Sonar>Motu>HD24 analog outs to 24 faders of console. In Sonar the outputs are only ADAT A1/2. Those are the light on the front of the Motu that light when playing back. Is there a front setting of Motu I need to alter so Sonar will recognize?
I don't own an HD24, but here is how I'd attack it:
1) Asign (in Sonar) each of 24 tracks to a seperate adat output of the 2408MkII.
2) Connect Lightpipe outputs of 2408 to lightpipe inputs of HD24.
3) Create a new 24 track song in HD24, set inputs to digital, set to live input monitor (however you do that with HD24?), and record arm the tracks (though you won't be recording anything - just using it to pass signal).
4) Connect analog outs of HD24 to analog console.....
An important step would be to make sure that either the 2408 or HD24 is the master clock.
