Exporting from DP5 to Logic 7.2 ?
Hello all .....
I am planning to buy Logic 7.2 very soon .
Now , I wonder how easy it would be to transfert my audio from DP5.11 to Logic Pro 7.2 ....
Any comments .....

iMac 2012 27 ' 3.2 ghz 32 gigs ram OSX 10.9.4 DigitalPerformer 8.7 , MOTU Track 16, MOTU MachFive3.2, Ethno and BPM , Komplete 9, OmniSphere , Trilian and Stylus RMX , Axon mkII and Godin LG .
Merge all your tracks and make them start from the same bar.
Add audio at the beginning if needed.

Hi there. This is funny since I'm coming from Logic 7.2. BTW, what led you to this decision? I must tell you that Logic is funny about some things like how it assigns CC7 to an entire plug-in (all channels) so you cannot change volume per channel within i.e. kontakt 2. If you load piano on Channel 1, then bass on Channel 2 and wish to changes dynamics live, your CC7 messages will affect both instruments. This was one of the reasons I switched to DP5. It handles plug-ins like Cubase and Sonar do...WELL!Aramis wrote:Hello all .....

Yes, Aramis. This message surprises me a little. I hope it does for you what you need it to do, but I must agree that a certain lack of multi timbral functionality at this late date with 7.2 is a disappointment. The MIDI routing (in the environment) is a bit convoluted
However, SMFs imported from DP translate without a problem, and I agree that merging soundbites and setting them up to start at a given point on the timeline (ie: 1|1|000) is the most foolproof method of getting it to work. I've never had sync or timing problems with projects ported over from DP.
But using EXS24 can be a nightmare-- check out this walkthrough on setting it up for a simple drum patch:

If you don't have the preference set to "Open Plugin on Insertion" then double-click on the newly inserted "EXS24 mc" button.
Using the mouse press on the black window to pull up the patch selector.
Load Factory>Drum Kits>EXS 808
On the EXS24, just to the right of the black window, hit the "edit" button.
Close the EXS24 (leaving the EXS24 Editor Window Open).
Open the first Group by clicking on the little triangle in the upper-left of the Group for "Hihats" (if it isn't already open).
Make sure "EXS Output" is visible in the Group Parameters, if it isn't, from the Environment Window Pull-down Menu: View>Group: EXS Outputs.
Using the mouse press and hold in the parameter window for EXS Output, select 5-6.
Close that Group and open the Group for "Snare 1"
Using the mouse press and hold in the parameter window for EXS Output, select 3-4.
Close that Group and open the Group for "Cymbal 1" (leave "Kick 2" alone)
Using the mouse press and hold in the parameter window for EXS Output, select 7-8.
Close the EXS24 Editor Window.
Creating the Aux Objects I will start here assuming you have no Aux Objects, if you have 1 go to where it is in your Environment and skip to step 4, if you already have 3 go to where they are and skip to step 9
In the Environment Window, scroll until you have an area that is open enough to put new Objects.
From the Environment Window Pull-down Menu: New>Audio Object
When the Object appears move it to a place that it will have room to expand and double click on it.
In the Parameter Window for the newly created Audio Object, using the mouse press down on the word just to the right of "Channel: " and Select Aux>Aux 1
Hold Control on your keyboard and using the mouse click on the name of the Audio Object and drag it to create a copy.
Repeat the last step so you have 3 Audio Objects.
For the second Aux Object repeat step 4 except select Aux 2.
For the third Aux Object repeat step 4 except select Aux 3.
Name the Audio Objects Aux 1, Aux 2, Aux 3.
On Aux 1, using the mouse press down on the button just below "I/O" and select Instrument # >EXS24 3-4
On Aux 1, using the mouse press down on the button just below the previous button and select Output>Output 3-4
On Aux 2, using the mouse press down on the button just below "I/O" and select Instrument # >EXS24 5-6
On Aux 2, using the mouse press down on the button just below the previous button and select Output>Output 5-6
On Aux 3, using the mouse press down on the button just below "I/O" and select Instrument # >EXS24 7-8
On Aux 3, using the mouse press down on the button just below the previous button and select Output>Output 7-8
Make sure that there is a check for "Icon" in the Object Parameter Window for all three objects.
Close the Environment Window and make sure there is an Arrange Window open.
Creating the Tracks for Mixing in the Arrange Window
Select the Track that coincides with the Multi Channel Instrument or create one.
From the Arrange Window Pull-down Menu: Track>Create.
Using the mouse, press down on the name of the newly created track, navigate to and select Aux 1.
From the Arrange Window Pull-down Menu: Track>Create.
Using the mouse, press down on the name of the newly created track, navigate to and select Aux 2.
From the Arrange Window Pull-down Menu: Track>Create.
Using the mouse, press down on the name of the newly created track, navigate to and select Aux 3.
You are ready to go. To test it out right now remember that
Kick on C1 = output 1-2
Snare on D1 = output 3-4
Hihats on F#1/G#1/A#1 = output 5-6
Cymbal on C#2 = output 7-8

do not mistake , I am not replacing DP . I am looking to get a better tool at using loops from GarageBand and Soundtrack Pro ....
I do not wish to learn another sequencer in depth like I do for DP ....
My 2 incentives ( is this an english word ? ) are loops and Distributed Audio Processing ....
