Markers 101
Why don't markers behave the way I'd like them to?
What I'd like to be able to do:
- While a track is playing, hit a key to add a marker
- After stopping, drag the marker to a new position
- Double-click on the marker to name it or add a comment
This all seems doable in DP, but the execution is very cumbersome. When I open the Markers window, the Record Hits command isn't available. To add a marker I have to select Add from a menu. And so forth.
Can anyone provide a basic tutorial or pointers to accomplish the above (and more) using as few keystrokes as possible? Seems to me this is the way Peak behaves.
Thanks!

Are you on 5.11? If so...
Go to the Commands window (shift-L). In the search field enter "Add Marker".
Then what I've done (and a few others, I imagine) is remove the ^M command from the "Add Marker" slot and assign it to the command right below it - "Add Marker and Edit Options".
If you're still on an earlier version ^M will at least add the markers on the fly. But you still have to peck around the Markers list to edit the names.
Dragging Markers would be very helpful to me too!

If you constantly turn your weaknesses into strenghts, you're effectively converting your cache-poop into fodder.

why wouldn't the markers simply be moveable in the ruler. bad design. this means you have to scroll up to the conductor track to move a marker which defeats the purpose if i am trying to move a marker to a soundbite.Dwetmaster wrote:In the conductor track.
