Problems using Motu ASIO in Windows XP
Hi there,
I'm Tom, I've just started using my traveller and I'm new to this forum. I'm using my traveller on a macbook pro. I've got it working great on OS X, however I work a lot in windows XP, using bootcamp to go between operating systems. I've installated drivers on both operating systems, but I'm having some problems in windows. With the Traveller connected, things seem to slow down significantly. The Mouse pointer occatioanally freezes its position. Trying to use the traveler with ASIO drivers in a sequencer (FL studio) it is very tempremental. It occasionally stops audio, and sometimes outputs a very loud, high sine tone for short periods. Has anyone else experienced / head of this happening?
I'd really appreciate any help.
Thanks
Tom

Hi !
I have a MacBook Pro C2D with a 828mkII and get that high pitched sound under XP via Bootcamp. I installed the hotfix, played with the registry value, reinstalled the drivers... I can't get rid of that high pitched note every approx 10 seconds (seems to be random).
Anything else I can do ?
Thank you !

this is strange. i'm using a traveler with osx and xp on a black macbook, and have none of the described problems with xp. are you using the 64 bit beta drivers, or the newest 32 bit release? are you on firmware version 1.07?
also, are you using bootcamp 1.1.2? i had some issues with 1.1.1, mostly with mouse-type stuff though. i haven't noticed any system lagging when i fire it up in xp with samp...

I have an 828MKII FW with firmware 1.01.
Macbook Pro C2D 2.33
Win XP sp2 bootcamp.
I get the same hightpitched noise every 5 or so seconds, randomly.
I've tried:
- uninstall reinstall with all the different versions of the motu drivers using the procedure outlined in Baptiste's post : http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16293
- factory defaults relaoded
- reset voltage on unit, by switching back and forth.
- optical in/out reset by switching off and on in console
- installing the Microsoft firewire fix for SP2
- the registry tweak described by Batptist at: http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16293
what shall I try next?
Why does it work for some and not for others? There must be a peice of the puzzle we are, or I am, missing here....
thanks....

out of interest....
can you make it screech on demand by hovering the mouse over the battery icon in the task bar?
cos thats what my pc laptop has always done. I fixed it by turning going to device manager, and disabling the ACPI battery (this has the side effect of the laptop now switching off when out of power rather than shutting down)
MOTU had me convinced it was the PC but I'm quite willing to believe its MOTUs fault.
