Converting sound files for Mach 5

Hi folks,

I'm wondering what people would suggest as the best way to convert some files for Mach 5 use.

I have a Yamaha SY85 that I would like to grab and sample some pads from it and through it into Mach 5. I use DP 5.11 and I was thinking of recording a MIDI track with each note being played for say - a whole note or so, different velocities, print that audio to disk, and then bounce each sound bite to import into Mach 5. Do you think I should use the numbering method?

Also, I was thinking of doing something similiar for my Alesis D4 samples -although I recently bought SmartLoops Thunder Kit (which I think sounds great and imported perfectly into Mach 5).

Any suggestions?

It works great for other format, but it doesn't do Mach5.
Although you can make a patch for EXS24 and have Mach5 translate it.
Funny though, it says "SAMPLIT has been used to record the famous Bosendorfer piano included in the MOTU MachFive standard library."

I wrote to them and complained about it, never get the answer.

Oh yeah conleycd, you can use Samplit and take the wav or aif and make patches for Mach 5.

So SAMPLIT wasn't used for the MOTU library piano?

When I looked through it looked neat, but I'm not entirely sure how automated it is? I would love a program that automatically send the MIDI note, velocity and a setting for duration. Then those recorded files could be imported into the sampler. Maybe this does it and I'm not seeing it?

It can be automated. I finally tried the demo a couple days ago and it will automatically trigger each note at different velocities and durations all of which you can set up.

The demo limits you to two octaves.
