8pre with mic cable stuck in jack

Post by JRod75 »

Hey All
I just got my 8pre and plug in and started recording. The session went well except when at the end I was unplugging my xlr mic cables and I could not get the cable out of mic pre 1. I pressed the button and it seems to be stuck. Has anyone experienced this? I'm at a loss here, I have only had it for 3 days and this has happened. Any suggestions?

no suggestions but I would like to know what you think about the quality of the mic pre's. I'm looking at buying one but can't find any information about the signal quality of the pre's. good luck with your problem, did you buy it locally? if you did you could just take it back with the stuck cord and have them look at it, if they break it then you get a new one! : )

The mic pres are great, I used for drum tracking with my 002r and I love it. Now if I can only get my cable out of the damn thing!

Is the cowl around the three pins bent? I've had trouble with mic cables in that shape before. My suggestion is get a good grip on the 8pre (I want, I want!!!) and pull straight out on the plug. Good luck!
