bounce to mp4 doesn't work

Post by bitmaniac »

When I bounce to mp4 I get the following error:

Mas, 1 error reported by Core Audio Export Plugin/Core Audio support code:
CAAudioFile.cpp 708 -2 write audio file [-2]

Any ideas?

I've already written Motu on the subject and the wrote me back saying
it's a bug in Core Audio.
Even though bouncing to mp4 in Logic Express works fine.

Is there a fix planned for this? It is disconcerting to have to install ANOTHER convertor on my computer! C'mon, dp, fix it!

I wrote to MOTU a year or so ago about this--I was trying to go from DP directly to m4a/AAC. They basically said that, well, the m4a/AAC codec was a proprietary Apple thing. So to convert mixes to m4a/AAC, I'd have to bounce to AIF and do the conversion in itunes. Logic can do it because it's now owned by Apple.
