That is a bad (corrupted) file indicator. I believe it also shows up on bootleg copies of DP (maybe the programmers put it in there?)jermaine wrote:Any Advice on the issue of corrupted files no longer opening?[/b]
What version of DP are you using? What is your system configuration?

I paid for D performer. I'm now using version 4.6 and have been for over a year now. (Started with 4.1) OS 10.3.9 G4 mirror door.
This is only happening with 1 specific performer file that is only about 4 days old. I want to un-corrupt the file if there is such a thing. I've tried to launch it by clicking it, dragging it to the application (in the dock) and by emptying the components folder and opening and it gives the message every time.

It worked (error=-199)
Tried removing the audio files from the project (and off the drive)and then opening it. It worked. Load from chunks function didn't work. Thanks alot.

That's good news. The next thing to do is start replacing them to figure out which is the culpret. The best way to do that is to dump half of the files back in and see if the problem returns. If it's OK dump half of the remainder (keeping aware of which are the most recent additions) until you find the bad one.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Man, this forum is great. I'm sorry if I got into this question late, but it's just been happening to me the last few days. All the same project too.
I have DP 5.1 (I bought it), and I've had two instances of this happening in the last two days.
So, I took out the audio files, and indeed the file opened but of course without the audio files. When I tried to put them back in, it didn't work (they wouldn't show up), but thank God (since I'd just had a guitar player here), I had backed up the project right after he left. So I was able to put the audio files from the back-up into the other sequence which was a 2 minute breakout of the original 50 sec. deal.
Of course I went to Motu's site first, and they had nothing about this..
Anyway, thanks guys! I'm hoping this doesn't happen again (I removed a bunch of stuff from that drive, and am going to get another soon), but at least now I know what to do.
I hopefully will not forget to back-up from here on out, and I suggest you all remember too.
Thanks again,
Bill
