All I said was that collaborating with Apple Loops would be unexciting. And it just a passing joke. I need to post a resume to qualify myself?

By the way, there's a link to my music services included in every post I make. Check my signature below. You'll see that I'm neither big time nor small time as a composer guy. Just a dude working.

I have worked on films as a 3D animator though. Hellboy, The Cat in the Hat, a few others. Does that, er, validate me?
Sorry Chris, no disrespect, but emulatorloo made a statement that you do alright without them. It's just, you don't seem to be, or fit into the catagory of music composition I was refering to. So, I don't beleive you are good example to use. Most people and producers do get by fine without loops or apple loops. In working with a prominant composer I found there is a certian work flow that has emerged and DP doesn't seem to meet those needs because of the way it handles time sliced loops, and, not just apple loops. Apple loops is just the easiest way to work with them in Logic because of the apple loop browser. So, all of my loop library, about 30 gigs, is already formated to apple loops as well as Ableton Live. I don't want the host to change them or move them...just play them synced. Logic does that!

It is a shame becuase DP 4.61 and 5, have some nice features that I really liked. It was worth looking at since I already had a license for 4.5. Doesn't seem like it will work for me though.

And, I like Hellboy!! Very cool stuff!
No disrespect taken. Sorry if I offended. I was really just goofin' on ya.

Yeah, DP doesn't work with time-stretchable loops as well as Logic or Live unless you're using some sort of REX-capable app or loop sampler like Plugsound Pro. Sad, but true...

DP, I think, excels at those old school MIDI comp, track, mix and edit tasks. I really like mixing with it. However, it's pretty clumsy when it comes to cross-app collaboration.

BTW, you can see my face in the Hellboy main title sequence. It's on one of the flying newspapers.

One of my favorite things about unicornation is the wisecracks. I like that folks don't get toooooooooooo serious. brett, I think you will come to like it here.

i do like it here. Been here since 2002. Just was gone a while. I am bit serious at the moment as I am in incompatabilty limbo. I have been using logic and PT but have always kept an eye on DP. I bought 4 a while back only to find it didn't supprt PT. so I went to logic and the use of TDM and AU is cool. But I want to use IK Media amplitube and ampeg. They don't run unless you update to 10.3.9. when I did, they didn't work in Logic still. They worked in DP but DP won't use my PT drivers on 10.3.9. And I have an apogee rosseta w/digi-mix card as my i/o. So I had to reinstall 10.3 and update back to 10.3.8. So, not in a playfull mood at the moment. I am sure that was obvious.

I am trying to sort out the next move that will get me where I need to be. I think macpro, logic, and symphony is the plan. sell the old machine as a turn key mix-plus system. I'll intall DP on the new machine as well, but I think the Logic workflow works better for me.

as far`as inserting a loop player...it is a workaround...but that hits the CPU more than apple loops. But, on a new macpro it might be nominal. On my g4 it makes a difference.
