MachFive not showing up in DP5. Help.

Post by zionminstrel »

First, I am one really happy individual right now. Whatever the new update in DP5 (5.11) did it's now reading my Roland JV1010 patchlist which I was having issues with.
But now I'm having issues with Mach 5. No matter what I try, i can't seem to get DP5 either read that Mach 5 is installed (although, when DP is loading up it seems like it is reading it in the loading lists) or to recognize my ilok key. Mach5 also wasn't working before I did the 5.11 upgrade (I also have the latest upgrades loaded for Mach5- 1.2.3 or something. I just downed it but still no go). I'm using the ilok that came with Mach5. I originally loaded up Mach5 and used the key when I was still using DP3 on OS9. I just recently did the big switch to osx and DP5 and now Mach5 won't work. Is the ilok not working because, somehow, it's now set for DP3 or OS9? I can't think of any other possibility. If the key is in os9 mode (if there is such a thing), how do I get it into osx mode? Thanks.

I doubt it's an iLok issue-- at least that wouldn't be my first guess.

Do a search in the Finder for the MachFive component and the MachFive bundle. Trash those files, empty the trash, and reinstall MachFive 1.2.3 (you don't have to trash the app).

Then, trash your Audio Unit Info Cache and DP Preferences (both easy to find in the Finder), shut down the computer completely, then reboot. Start DP and let it do its thing with AU testing.

This has knocked it out for a lot of people in OS X.

Also, just to get the basics out of the way, make sure you are trying to use Mach 5 as an "Instrument" track, not as a plug in on an audio track. This is different than the OS 9/ DP3 way of using Mach 5, and any other soft synths you might use.

I experienced something like that a few months ago. The ilock didn't like my USB hub. Once the hub changed the issue disappeared.
