Using MachFive to archive keyboard sounds

Post by maasman »

I'm starting to lose faith in MachFive 2 ever happening, though I'm not switching... yet.

That said, I want to start sampling some sounds off some old keyboards I have. I would like to use MachFive since I like the looping and editing capability. HOWEVER, I'd prefer not to get stuck with a ton of samples in MachFive format if I end up migrating to another soft sampler in lieu of MF2.

Can MachFive samples/programs be loaded into other samplers? Can I save my samples/programs in a more universal format with MachFive? This part of things is still a little gray to me, so any advice would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure Kontakt can load Mach5 sounds. But double check anyways.
