DP5.1...Mute enable and disable events

DP5.1...Mute enable and disable events

Dp5.1 is running well on my G5 but one minor glitch is happening when I copy a MIDI Track to another track. Mute enable and disable automation events show up on the new track at random. I am currently not using mute automation anywhere so this is a small mystery.
Where are these events coming from?
It also sometimes happens when I have a MIDI track "record enabled" and I hit play(not record). Two or three mute enable / disable events show up on that track as the scrub bar passes!
Also, mute automation is not in record mode for these tracks.
Does this sound familiar to any one?
