First off my set up.
Powerbook (Titanium) OSX 10.3.9
896HD
828mkII
all connected thru firewire
DP 4.6
2 issues
1) How can I monitor all of my analog inputs (896HD and 828mkII) from the HD XLR monitor outputs. I only here the HD inputs and not the mkII. My I/O's are set properly in the DP software. I am receiving all the inputs just fine (Im using 16 of them right now 8 from each interface) and I am able to view them in the audio monitor window perfectly and track them. I shift clicked both the HD and mkII in the Configure Hardware window. I have the HD as master and the mkII clocked to the HD. I have the Sample Rate set to 44.1 and the Host buffer is set to 2 with work priority set High. Again, I only hear the HD inputs and not the mkII, I need to hear both thru my HD XLR monitors outputs.
2) When I monitor my outputs (in the same settings above) I get click pops and what sounds like a gate effect. I have to push the volume then it seems to release with a 10db boost uncontrolled.
I appreciate an advice or comments thank you.

Are you monitoring via DP by turning on Audio Patch Thru (little headphone icon atop the consolidated window or Audio Monitor; or under the Studio menu)? Or are you monitoring via the CueMix console?
If monitoring via DP what are your Input Monitoring Mode settings (under "Setup>Configure Audio System")?
If using direct hardware monitoring I think that you can only monitor the inputs of an interface via that interface (ie, you'd hear the 896HD ins via the 896HD outs and the 828mkII ins via the 828mkII outs).
If, however, you monitor through effects I believe that any given input of a track will then be routed to the output selected for that track when Audio Patch Thru is on. Of course, in this case there would be latency, but you could monitor all ins via the 896HD outs.
The CueMix console allows you to route inputs directly to outputs outside the DP environment. However, you cannot route the inputs of the 828mkII to the output of the 896HD via firewire. You could, however, route the analog inputs of the 828mkII to its ADAT outputs and then run them over to the 896HD. Then using the 896HD CueMix console you could monitor all inputs of it, which now include the 828mkII analog inputs (accessed via the ADAT inputs of the 896HD).
I'm not sure what's going on with regards to your 2nd question. If the odd sounds are not captured in the track then it stands to reason that the issue is not occuring on input. If monitoring via DP you might try monitoring via CueMix, or vice-versa. In the very least this may narrow things down.
Good luck!

Thanks
This worked! I called DP support and they only had the external solution.
I think I will try the ADAT approach. If anyone else has a solution for the monitor issue, the pops and stuff are only coming from the monitors not the headphones or the recorded tracks.
Thanks Again Enigmatunes

Did ADAT solution work?
Did the ADAT monitoring solution work? I've got an 896HD and 828mkII and I'd love to see all the inputs in one cuemix session.
