general-midi route thru Traveler under XinXP ?

Post by lawsongz »

Hello

Does anyone have any solutions or ideas for the problem i have with my Traveler?

I have an intel-imac running both macOSX and WinXP (dual-boot). Under the macOS, the CoreMIDI sound output can be routed through the Traveler along with audio, no-problems. But when running under WindowsXP there is no way that i can route the general-MIDI sound output through the traveler. Instead the MIDI sounds output through the in-built speakers of the computer, and do not mix with other audio sounds (ie, mp3) that goes through the Traveler. Needless to say, this is a pain if trying to mix MIDI and audio tracks together. Are you confused? I am.

I asked the MOTU support group, they say there is no way to route the MIDI through the Traveler, but this cannot be true as this is acheivable under MacOS.

Someone suggested earlier checking the control panel settings, ive checked those all seem to be fine. A question, does anyone run the Traveler under WindowsXP, and can output the general-MIDI sounds through the Traveler? If so, then at least i know that it would be possible.

Thank you for your time. :)

Any thoughts ?

Does no-one here have any thoughts on this so far?

What i am saying in this topic is that the general-MIDI sounds of windows xp cannot route thru the Traveler like mp3 or wave files. So, in a multritracker like Cubase the audio tracks go through the MOTU Traveler whilst the MIDI tracks go through the in-built speakers of the imac. Im trying to work out whether this is a just an imac problem, do PC users have this problem?

Cheers :)
