Re: Traveller (mk1) with M1 Macs (Big Sur)
Yeah exactly, just the official firewire thunderbolt 2 adapter. Perhaps you'll need a combo as you said Firewire to TB2 to TB3/4 ——assuming the M1's have TB3/4 ports The M1 has TB4 which is an enhancement of TB3. Though this mainly benefits Windows where TB3 support is extremely limited, TB4 allows...

Re: Authorizing the 'Xtreme FX' library...HOW?!
Anyone else get past me? I did. With the same type of trouble at first. On the list of their software, be sure you're picking the "Other" Xtreme FX item (somewhere higher up in the list), NOT the one at the bottom of the list, it's like a different package (but has a similar name). When y...

Re: Mac Mini
It works here. Firewire audio interfaces and disk drives don't like to share bandwidth, so you might try using a USB2.0 drive on the high speed bus (look in your apple system profiler--there is ONE USB port that can handle 480 mbs.) You might also want to swap out the audio interface (though that m...

Hey, thanks for sharing your discovery about negative latency settings. I set it to -100ms on my slave MacBook Pro and worked a treat. I've been using a gigabit ethernet cable for the networking part, though it's a direct connection one machine to the other, not via a switch and frankly the latency...

I just tried and I'm able to load them... I browsed to /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Sampler/Sampler Instruments and chose the instrument i wanted (.exs file). Machfive 2 on "External" computer
I'm about to try using MachFive2 in standalone mode on a second computer, an imac core duo 2 ghz (once some 50 gigs of samples copy over!)... My main machine is a dual 2.0 G5 so i thought i'd test offloading MachFive to give my main machine a little more breathing room. I'm going to use an old 828 (...
