You're not running at 96K are you? Just a thought. Also, I would try downloading the demo of Expert Sleepers Silent Way and see if you get the same result when sending CV out to the ADAT channels. It basically does the same thing as CV tools but differently. I actually prefer it.

This won't be much help, but I can say for myself I use an 828x tethered to an ES3 and an ES8 via ADAT. I've never had this issue with either Ableton's CV tools or Silent way. It always just worked. Honestly can't think of anything that might be causing this.
