Re: Advice wanted - importing AAF into DP 9.13

I haven't had any luck with AAF import (and I've tried). I've had to either ask for OMF or bring the AAF into Protools first and re-export as OMF which works fine.

Re: importing OMF or AAF trouble

As I've posted re Premiere OMF imports to DP... 1. Don't have the audio embedded (it should be in a separate folder to the OMF) 2. Open your DP template 3. Drag the OMF onto the chunks window (wait a minute) 4. Drag all audio from the Final cut audio folder into the DP audio folder and 5. Wait a few...

Re: Adobe Premiere to DP…HELP!!!

I've posted a few times about this. I have mixed hundreds of tv episodes exported from Premiere to DP. This always works... 1. Don't have the audio embedded (it should be in a separate folder to the OMF) 2. Open your DP template 3. Drag the Premiere OMF onto the chunks window (wait a minute) 4. Drag...

Re: 2sd client lost. PT can open an OMF file that DP can't.

This year I have been mixing a lot of tv episodes that were edited in Premiere (previously in FCP7). After some trial and error and the help of a post elsewhere on this list, I have been able to import Premiere's non self contained OMF's (i.e. there is a separate audio folder) direct to DP 8.07. I. ...

Re: What is and what isn't 32bit float?

I can add nothing scientific to the discussion about the math of 32 bit files BUT when DP first added the 32 bit file option (I think it was at v6?) I did some listening tests which were interesting. I had always felt that a 24 bit looped back mix (through FF800) sounded a little less 3 dimensional ...

Re: Application transition Issue

I have been having this issue for a while now also. It's not only MS apps but also safari and mail. Command tab doesn't always fix it but if I go back to the offending app and back to DP a second time... voila!

Re: best choice for home mastering in DP...

I am extremely happy with TC Powercore MD3 and brickwall limiter. Very transparent and loud masters can be achieved once the tools are understood. I know that not every one has been happy with Powercore but (touch wood) it's working fine for me at the moment with DP 7.2

Re: VE Pro or Plogue Bidule?

But I imagine that even with the wonders of 64 bit that sample load times will be an issue?
This is why i like having a template of commonly used samples loaded in Bidule.

All is fine here with dp 7.12

You may need to update your powercore version.

Re: Transpose an MP3

I had to do this same thing yesterday. DP didn't cope very well. I ended up using Melodyne which was much better for transposing a whole mp3 mix. I have heard some people praise the apple pitch shift audio unit plug that you will already have installed... Otherwise you could download the trial versi...

Re: SERIOUS DP and POWERCORE issues

It is working fine for me on Snow Leopard since I found the TC Beta software (sorry I'm at home at the moment and can't remember the actual beta version number). Prior to this it was making my Macpro hang on startup.

I'm just feeling that my main production limitation with 7.1 is between the ears!
I also love the preset management.

Re: Is 7.1 ready for prime time

7.1 is very good for me. Once the overviews have finished rebuilding on old projects they open very quickly (on subsequent opening). Fx presets are fantastic.
