CMD-Tab doesn't do it on my system. When it's stuck, all I can do is go to the Finder and then go back to DP or Finale by clicking on the app icon or using Quickeys. Either by itself doesn't do it either.
Come to think f it, Acrobat also does this sometimes. It is an OS issue, not a DP, or Finale or Adobe issue, per se.

Re: Application transition Issue
I have been having this issue for a while now also. It's not only MS apps but also safari and mail. Command tab doesn't always fix it but if I go back to the offending app and back to DP a second time... voila!
