Re: Import Session Data a must

I use the Load command for this. How does Load fall flat for you? I’m not a Pro Tools user btw.

NAMM NEWS - DP 10 - It's Here!

Here are more notes about changes/improvements in DP10 from Matt Lupont’s demo at NAMM this afternoon. He also demoed VCA group fader for 4 tracks of percussion he created with Polar!! (Nothing new in Polar itself). Officially Motu is saying release in Q1 which is by March 31 :) But Brendon in the S...

Re: NAMM NEWS - DP 10 - It's Here!

Anyone know if MOTU has addressed the visibility of the velocity stalks in the MIDI Edit window in DP10? The reply I got was not really, only as much as the new Scale command increases the sizes of all the DP windows. It’s “on the list” I was told. A new feature is display of the note name when cur...

Re: NAMM NEWS - DP 10 - It's Here!

I’m listening to David Das show VCA fader (including MIDI Tracks), scale all DP tracks, absolute grid. Everything listed in the PR is in DP10.

Tactile holograph projector. But you need a terabyte of RAM for it to work.

I can’t wait to check this one out. Thanks for the leak, Dave

Re: Upgrade to a 2TB SSD?

I had a MP 3,1 in which I installed internally 6g SSDs over a period of time. The 6gs were overkill for the 3,1 bus but I figured I’d be able to use them in an upgraded MP down the road. I upgraded to a MP 6,1 last year and now they are performing to speed at no additional cost as externals streamin...

Re: Chunks use different movie video file?

Easy Mike. Not user error. MOTU has acknowledged the issue. I think you misunderstand. Ive worked and taught this workflow for many years with DP and the movie data has not been corrupted in the way I described in earlier versions. Best to you.

Re: Chunks use different movie video file?

Be very careful when using toggle "use same Movie for all sequences (sic)". Simply put, you can lose previously set movie links and start times by doing this. This is a known but unfixed bug which I first noticed when doing a demo at the NAMM Motu booth when DP9 was launched. I suggest wri...

Re: Thunderbolt ports not functioning 2012 iMac

I recently returned from a 10 day trip to Brazil. The power was off to my MacPro 6,1 for the time I was away. When I powered up and rebooted, Thunderbolt was unresponsive. Resetting PRAM fixed it. This is the second time this has happened in the past year. I don’t have this problem with shorter time...

Re: Audio file names (labelling)

Thanks for the reply. Yes I guess I could just type in my required name on every track title before I hit record, but I mainly want precise labelling when I print off audio from a orchestra of virtual instruments, and as I am working on a film there will be around 50 individual chunks each with at ...

Re: Tempo control menu

The workaround would be to use a macro app to click the menu and make the selection. All ? the mini menus lack command access although some of the menu items do have commands. I use Keyboard Maestro to click on a mini menu and then select an option if the window it’s in is stable relative to the fr...

Re: Playback skipping to next chunk?

Chunks can be triggered by MIDI notes and these triggers are listed in DPs Commands window. If you are playing along on a MIDI keyboard you can inadvertently play the trigger note and find yourself in a different chunk. You can delete MIDI triggers in the Commands window and toggle auto assignment o...
